Dear Musicalion Members and Visitors, Hope you like our newly rebuilt platform! Thanks to your suggestions we have built in many new services and therefore have chosen the name Musicalion to represent all our services at www.musicalion.com , not just the Online Music Library.
Have you tried out the new, precise, detailed search yet? There’s a brief demo video to show you how it works at http://www.musicalion.com/general/Docs/de_DE/SearchProcedure.htm
Composers and copyists: you can now check at any time how often your contributions have been downloaded! You can also add and update your biography at any time; it will be translated into German (and soon into French!) for the corresponding foreign platforms!
Copyists: Harpist and composer Joyce Rosenfield in Antioch, California is looking for someone to copy her handwritten music using a music notation software program. If you are interested in the job, please contact her directly at lilacmuse@sbcglobal.net (925) 754-7255.
Contribution Form
+++++++++++++++++++
Composers and copyists will now find it easier to put together and send their compositions to us. Free memberships will as always be extended to our contributors, now on the basis of the length of each contribution (see www.musicalion.com/scores/contribute.php).
Bulletin Board
++++++++++
Now only those with access to Musicalion will be allowed to post on our bulletin board, to avoid spam and nonsense postings. In the future we will expand this area to a real forum with different topics of discussion (e.g. for piano teachers, church choir directors, etc.)
Musicians-Websites
++++++++++++++++++++
Members can now design and run their own websites! The procedure is simple even for those new to the internet. In contrast to providers of similar services we offer more than simply a “business card” on our website. You can set up your website with the content and color scheme you want. You can announce events, maintain a calendar and produce newsletters which will simultaneously be published on www.musicalion.com! Announce your upcoming events not only to the subscribers of your personal site, but also (limited by geographical region) to our entire mailing list (currently 17,000 addresses!)
You can also publish a repertoire list on your website and attach recorded performances as desired. If you publish a recording on your website of a composition available in the Online Music Library, it will be automatically published with your name in the Online Music Library!
To get a more complete picture of how this all works check out our demonstration videos at www.musicalion.com/presences/help.php
If you are currently an active member you can set up and run your own website for free until your current library membership expires. After this time it will cost only $29 per year for your website to remain on line. The price of an OML membership alone will also remain $29 per year. A combined OML+website membership will cost $49 per year.
Please let us know what you think of the changes we have made!! We are looking forward to your suggestions for further improvements!
